From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
  Overview
Our Golden Leaves Center meets on Thursdays   from 9:30 a.m. to - 1:00 p.m., September through June
We will again offer a  variety of classes and entertainment  for you to get involved with.   
Membership dues is  $15 a year and is used to supplement the Center budget.  It is used for a  variety of programs, fun and entertainment. 
We offer  monthly Bible Support group meetings, blood pressure clinics and consultations with our nurse. 
We offer  Health and Wellness programs, (regular) Flu and pneumonia shots. 
(Shots will be free with your Medicare card or $30 for flu and $35 for pneumonia.)
Join in a card game,  book review, exercise class, bingo, crafts and a noon lunch.  
Try your hand at a craft, enjoy some entertainment, take on a goodwill project, or do some traveling with a sponsored tour. 
Copies of our monthly newsletters and schedules can be found on the tract rack by the church elevator, on this website or by calling Sue.
EVERYONE is invited to join us at any time!

Senior 55+ Celebration At the Milwaukee County Zoo
Friday, September 3, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
We will bus to the Zoo
  • Health & Wellness Exhibits
  • Bingo
  • Entertainment on 2 stages
  • Complimentary coffee, cookies and ice cream

The cost is $16 and includes lunch, bus and parking fee.
Admission to the Zoo is free

Autumn Interlude Tour
Monday, October 4th through Thursday, October 7th
A delightful 4 day tour is planned.  We will head to.....
Note: Tours may be canceled at any time due to lack of interest or when tour is filled. Don’t be left out! - Sign up soon.

Parish Nurse - Barb
Located in the Brides room.
 
Barb visits the 3rd Thursday each month to do blood pressure checks or help you with resources for medical problems.
She also brings an informative program.
 
 
Barb uses a number system for coordinating her schedule.

BIBLE Support Group Meetings with Pastor Larry or Pastor Jennifer
We will meet with Pastor Larry or Pastor Jennifer for either a Bible Study,  time together with friends or share prayers and concerns.
We will meet in the Bride’s room at 10:00 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month.   We are open to all faiths.  Feel free to just come and listen at anytime.
 

 
       Lunch is served at Noon:
(Donations of ingredients are needed like fresh or frozen vegetables cut up, broths, canned tomatoes, rice or noodles.  Don't forget the pre-cooked meat.)
 

 
Monthly Catered Birthday Luncheon Celebrations for our Members
To celebrate our members birthdays -we will be having a special catered luncheon served on the 3rd Thursday of each month in honor of those born in that month.  
Cost: $5.00 per person.
Reservations needed the week before.   If you become ill, call for a credit
(This will also give our regular kitchen volunteers a well deserved rest and to give them the opportunity to enjoy our company and activities too).

Bingo
Red White and Blue Bingo at 11:00 a.m.
Everyone that would like to play, please bring 3 new items to receive a bingo card.

 
EXCERCISE CLASS with P.A.C.E.
 
Excercise will be offered every Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Founders room.   Start with a warm-up by walkin the halls, then meet in the Founders Room for exercises led by videos.
Come when you can, work at your own P.A.C.E. -“People with Arthritis Can  Exercise,” Video.
This video is a gentle exercise program with champion golfer Jan Stephenson—made for people with arthritis, by people who know how to care about arthritis, Arthritis Foundation.

 
STITCH AND SEW
We want to get started making Prayer Shawls.  These shawls will be given to someone, either in the hospital, a nursing home, or homebound who needs a warm hug.  These shawls will be blessed and given to a special person to be wrapped in love and prayer. 
We will be needing materials to be donated for this project. 
 

 GOOD WILL PROJECTS
 
1.   We are collecting old eye glasses and cases, hearing aids, healthcare equipment e.g. walkers etc.  to be donated to needy people within the city.  
 
2. Food for Families and the Food PantryWatch for holiday times when these items will be collected.   Suggested items that are always needed are: canned goods of all kinds, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorants, soaps, diapers, baby food, etc.  Nothing that needs to be refrigerated, please. 
 
3 TEDDY BEAR MINISTRY  We need new teddy bears to be given out at Mount Hope to those who might be in the hospital or in a nursing facility and need a big “BEAR HUG!”
 
The dollar stores have some cute bears at a very reasonable price.

 Friendship Café
 
 Coffee and bakery will be served in the morning at our Friendship Café from 9:30 to noon for your purchase. 
Your donation of homemade bakery will be very much appreciated. You might want include a copy of your recipe with your bakery to share.
