| Lutheran Social Services in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan |
 |
For over 125 years, Lutheran Social Services (LSS) has touched the lives of people across the world. Each day, individuals from all different walks of life join together to generously give of their time, energy, and resources to help improve the quality of people’s lives. Our vision is to “Change the world – one grace-filled life at a time.” We strive to achieve this by providing a variety of compassionate social services that touch nearly 120,000 people annually.
Our proud heritage began in 1882, when Pastor E. J. Homme opened a home for orphans in Wittenberg, Wisconsin. Today, this home still serves many children and youth in need and is the inspiration for the social ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. We welcome you to explore our storied history of growth and development, and join us in our bright future.

| Servv International |
 |
A Greater Gift is a program of SERRV International, a nonprofit alternative trade and development organization. Our mission is to promote the social and economic progress of people in developing regions of the world by marketing their products in a just and direct manner.
Our goal is to alleviate poverty and empower low-income people through trade, training and other forms of capacity building as they work to improve their lives. SERRV has worked to assist artisans and farmers for more than 55 years through the following:
- Marketing their handcrafts and food products in a just and direct manner.
- Educating consumers in the United States about economic justice and other cultures.
- Providing development assistance to low-income craftspeople through their community-based organizations.
SERRV International was one of the first alternative trade organizations in the world and was a founding member of the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT).
We offer our artisan and farmer partners up to 50% advance payment on orders. This advance helps them to purchase raw materials and have a more regular income so they can avoid high interest rates from borrowing locally.

| Mt Meru Coffee |
 |
The Mt. Meru Coffee Project creates a direct connection between farmers and consumers. It offers justice through a fair price for the farmer, and hope to both the farmer and consumer. It's all about life together in this world God created for all of us.
Growing out of a partnership between Lutherans of the Milwaukee Synod (ELCA) and the Diocese of Meru (ELCT) in northern Tanzania, coffee grown on the slopes of Mt. Meru is purchased directly from small farmers through their local coops. It is shipped to Milwaukee, roasted to order, then distributed to consumers through "Ambassadors" in 60 plus congregations and is also shipped to supporters nation wide.
The objectives of the project center on bringing economic and social justice to the small farmers and people of the Mt. Meru region in Tanzania.
